60 Elementary Students Take Tips About Recycling and the Environment from Real-Life Super Hero
Advanced Disposal’s superhero Eco Man surprised 60 Campbellsport elementary students Wednesday at their local library. The integrated environmental services company put Eco Man up to the job of teaching local youth the importance of recycling in their own community.
Volunteers asked the group of young readers to line up outside unknowingly to greet the earth friendly super hero who swooped in like a caped avenger for all things Mother Earth. Students ages 3-7 received gift bags with recycling coloring books and other items supporting this year’s superhero themed summer reading program hosted by the Campbellsport Public Library.
“The kids all think Eco Man is ‘super’ cool,” said Stephanie Remillard, director of the Campbellsport Public Library. “All 60 students truly enjoyed the program and loved their goody bags. Thanks to Advanced Disposal and a special thanks to Eco Man for making it a memorable event for our young readers.”
Advanced Disposal created the comic book style superhero in 2013 with the goal of providing fun and engaging educational programming to students across the country and the Earth at large. Eco Man’s resume touts experience such as the “Contaminator Project” where he prevented the villainous Contaminator from destroying a local river. His story, Rear Load Garbage truck driver turned superhero, inspires and piques the interest of elementary students making waste collection and saving the environment cool.
Eco Man reminded the students, “By recycling even more at home, you are superheroes too!”
