Advanced Disposal Makes Recycling Stylish as Presenting Sponsor for Love Your Mother Eco Fashion Show
Show Raised $50,000 to Benefit Home Again St. Johns
PONTE VEDRA, FLA.
Advanced Disposal, an integrated environmental services company, was a presenting sponsor and furnished a collection in the Panache “Love Your Mother” Eco Fashion Show. Despite rainy conditions, more than 700 people attended the show, which raised $50,000 for Home Again St. Johns, a non-profit whose goal is to resolve homelessness in St. Johns County, which is Advanced Disposal’s headquarters location.
Five Advanced Disposal employees modeled custom-designed, handmade outfits as part of one of 16 collections in the show. The collection, “Mother Earth,” was created by designer Maricarmen who envisioned and constructed the outfits from miscellaneous trash and recycled materials, which Advanced Disposal provided including bubble wrap, 300 retired air fresheners, 500 stickers, cardboard, computer cables and plastic bags.
“Advanced Disposal was honored to participate in such a wonderful event that took our goal of leaving our communities cleaner and greener to a whole new level. It was amazing to watch the transformation of everyday recyclable materials into fun, fashionable outfits and all to benefit a charity that works everyday to improve life for our fellow St. Johns County residents,” said Chief Marketing Officer Mary O’Brien.
