Advanced Disposal Adds 21 Items to St. Johns County Recycling Collection List
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.
Advanced Disposal, a regional integrated environmental services company, announced today that it is picking up 21 recyclable items in St. Johns County as part of the company’s Earth Day initiatives.
Advanced Disposal originally picked up seven recyclable items which included newspapers, corrugated cardboard, metal and aluminum containers, plastics #1 and #2 and clear, brown and green glass. The new collection list includes a total of 21 items. In support of this expansion, Advanced Disposal has provided each customer with an additional 14 gallon recycling bin to be delivered in honor of Earth Day. This increases the total to 28 gallons of recyclable materials storage per home.
“We’re thrilled to provide such an appropriate Earth Day gift to the St. Johns County community a little early,” said Advanced Disposal Chief Marketing Officer Mary O’Brien. “We hope that our customers will take advantage of the additional bin and added collection items, ultimately making our community cleaner and greener.”

? Glass bottles (green, brown and clear)

? Newspapers and inserts (on rainy days, please hold until next collection)
? Magazines
? Catalogs
? Telephone books
? Brown paper bags
? Corrugated cardboard (flattened out?and cut in pieces 2' by 3' or smaller)
? Office paper
? Copy paper
? Shredded paper in paper bag
? File folders
? File or packing boxes
? Junk mail
? Cereal boxes
? Brown or gray fiber packages (soda?cartons, dry food packages, etc.)
The new recycling expansion is effective immediately. Items not able to be recycled are plastic bags, milk or juice cardboard cartons (these are poly-coated and cannot be recycled) and loose shredded paper.
